Michael Israels is the Chief Financial Officer of ExCellThera and the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM). As CFO of ExCellThera, Mr. Israels is responsible for overseeing its finances, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, taxes, insurance, licensing arrangements, and risk processes.
Prior to joining CCRM, Mr. Israels was a management consultant at Ernst & Young LLP (in Canada, U.K. and the Caribbean), President of BEST Funds, a venture capital company, and CEO of Convexus Managed Services Inc., a start-up fund administration company.
Mr. Israels was educated at the Ivey Business School — Western University, where he received a degree in Honors Business. He is a CPA, CA, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. Mr. Israels also holds the designation of Chartered Business Valuator and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
